Washington County Community College Set to Complete Gym Floor Renovation This Summer
Calais, Maine— Washington County Community College (WCCC) is proud to announce that a major renovation of its gymnasium floor is scheduled for completion this summer, enhancing the athletic experience for student-athletes and the broader campus community.
The upgraded gym floor, located in the college’s St. Croix Hall, will feature a brand-new hardwood surface, updated court markings, and improved underlayment for better safety and performance. The project reflects WCCC’s continued investment in student wellness, competitive athletics, and campus facilities.
“This renovation represents our commitment to creating a high-quality environment where students can thrive both on and off the court,” said Dr. Tyler Stoldt, Dean of Student Services at WCCC. “Our athletes deserve a facility that reflects their dedication and effort, and this new gym floor is just the beginning of a larger vision for Golden Eagles athletics.”
The gymnasium serves as the home court for the WCCC Golden Eagles, who compete in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA). In addition to varsity sports, the space is also used for college courses and student events and community activities.
The renovation is scheduled to be completed in time for the Fall 2025 semester, just ahead of the men’s and women’s basketball seasons.
